Elizabeth Melton is running for Georgia Public Service Commissioner!
Melton officially qualified for PSC District 1 today. Running as a Libertarian, she will be taking on a democrat candidate and the current incumbent republican. The Public Service Commissioner’s duty is to regulate Georgia’s state-appointed monopolies such as electric, gas, telecommunications, and transportation firms.
As a Public Service Commissioner, Melton will seek to advocate for consumers and provide choice through encouraging market competition.
Elizabeth Melton is a writer, mother of two sons, Zachary and Maxim, and native of Columbus. She owns a farm in Marion County and understands the challenges that both urban and rural citizens face. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in history from Columbus State University. An enthusiastic proponent of personal freedom and small government, Elizabeth believes strongly in exploring voluntary solutions to solve problems.
